The UNESCO General assembly in Kyoto (Japan) on December 2nd adopted the proposal to add the French Pilgrim routes of Santiago de Compostela to the list of World Heritage sites..
Of the sixty-nine monuments associated with the pilgrims that were chosen, sixteen are in Aquitaine and three in Bordeaux:
The Saint-André Cathedral
The Saint-Seurin Basilica
The Saint-Michel Basilica
are now UNESCO World heritage listed monuments.
